Children’s Ministry — every Wednesday night in Washington, IL, reaching children across the Peoria area with the Gospel.
Each week our club meets from 6:30–8:00 PM on Wednesday nights. A typical night is balanced between Bible memory time, preaching and teaching time, and game time — packed with God’s Word and plenty of fun.
Our club time is packed with lots of Bible teaching, but we have tons of fun as well! Outdoor activities are enjoyed weather permitting and include games, playground time, scavenger hunts, and whatever other creative ideas the leaders decide upon. Gym time is always a favorite, as is small-group time reading books and coloring. The highlight of fun time seems to be our once-a-month craft time — with often edible crafts!
The heart of our club is helping children hide God’s Word in their hearts. The emphasis is on Bible memory within the context of doctrine and character building, and we celebrate every child’s progress to keep them motivated to keep memorizing and growing.
We strive each week to provide a happy, Godly environment in which to show children God’s way of handling problems. Teaching proper Biblical conflict resolution is one focus of our club, and each week is a new opportunity to work with the children. We have a definite structure in place for correction, which is shared with parents and students upon enrollment. Our goal is that each child obeys so that all can learn what God has for us each night.
Enrollment in club is required for attendance, and parental permission is necessary for children to ride on our buses. Children must be 5 years old to ride the buses. If you’d like your child to attend, contact us by phone, email, or by filling out the registration form — we’d love to talk with you about enrollment anytime!
From the moment children arrive, every minute is planned with purpose. The evening opens with a high-energy welcome and opening assembly, then flows through Bible memory check-ins, a clear Gospel lesson, small-group time, and structured games. Leaders keep the pace moving so kids stay engaged from start to finish — and so every child leaves having heard God’s Word and felt genuinely cared for.
Our teaching follows a simple goal: help every child know who God is, understand the Gospel, and learn to live it out. Across the year children work through Bible stories, key memory verses, and character lessons on honesty, kindness, obedience, forgiveness, and courage. We don’t just want kids to know about God — we want them to know Him, and to carry what they learn home into their families.
Every leader and volunteer is here because they love kids and love God. We maintain clear structure, consistent expectations, and careful supervision so that club is a place where children feel safe, valued, and free to grow. Parents can trust that their child is in good hands every Wednesday night.
There is never a cost to attend our children’s ministry. Everything — the teaching, the activities, the snacks, and the bus ride to and from club — is provided free of charge, supported by the gifts of people who believe every child deserves the chance to hear about Jesus.
