WHO IS JESUS?

He Asked the Question First

Here is something that surprises most people. Jesus Himself asked the question this page is about.

One day He was walking with His closest friends, and He asked them who people said He was. Then He turned and made it personal:

He was not taking a poll. He was asking the man standing right in front of Him. That man, a fisherman named Peter, gave his answer:

The Manual says... the question is personal.

What He Said About Himself

Maybe you have heard someone say, "Jesus was a good teacher, and that's all." A lot of people land there. It sounds safe and respectful.

There is just one problem. Jesus never left that option open. Listen to what He actually said about Himself:

That last one sounds strange until you know the story behind it. "I AM" is how God identified Himself to Moses at the burning bush. Everyone listening that day knew exactly what Jesus was claiming. That is why some of them picked up stones.

Think about that for a second. If your neighbor said those things, you would not call him a good teacher. Jesus did not leave us a safe middle option. Either He is who He said He is, or He is not good at all.

The Manual says... Jesus claimed to be God.

What He Did

Talk is easy. Anybody can claim anything. So look at what He did.

He lived a life like yours, without a single sin. Tired, tempted, misunderstood, hurt - everything you have felt, He felt. And He never sinned once:

He died on purpose, for you. Here is the part I most want you to see. Jesus did not die as a victim of bad luck or bad politics. He walked into it willingly, to take the punishment for our sins - yours and mine:

While we were yet sinners. Not after we cleaned ourselves up. Before.

And He did not stay dead.

One of His friends, Thomas, refused to believe it until he could touch the scars himself. Jesus let him. And Thomas said the only thing left to say:

The Manual says... the resurrection settles it.

What This Has to Do With You

Maybe you are thinking, "Okay. But that was two thousand years ago. What does it have to do with my life right now?"

Fair question. Here is the honest answer.

You and I have a problem we cannot fix. The Bible calls it sin - the wrong things we have done, the good things we have left undone. It separates us from God, and no amount of trying harder closes that gap. That is exactly why Jesus came:

To save sinners. That is me. That is you. That is all of us.

He did not come to grade your life. He came to save it. And He is the only one who can:

The Manual says... He came for you.

The Best Life Is With Him

A lot of people think coming to Jesus means giving up the life they wanted. But the truth is, without Him, we are left trying to build life out of our own strength, our own wisdom, and our own broken pieces.

Jesus offers more than a better set of rules. He offers Himself. To know Him is to be forgiven, known, loved, guided, corrected, strengthened, and never left to face life alone.

That does not mean life becomes easy. Jesus never promised that. But life with Him is the best life possible because it is life the way God meant it to be: reconciled to Him, walking in truth, and headed toward a future death cannot take away.

Why settle only for the life you can make for yourself, when the Son of God is offering you life with Him?

Your Answer

So we are back to the question Jesus asked His friends. He is still asking it. Who do YOU say He is?

You do not have to answer it in a church. Peter answered it on a dusty road. Thomas answered it in a locked room, full of doubts, a week late. God has never been picky about the location. He is listening for the heart:

Whosoever. That word is there on purpose. It means anyone. It means you.

Talking to God does not require memorizing a prayer. If you are placing your faith in Christ, your own words may be different. This is simply an example of what that faith might sound like:

It is not the words that save you. It is Christ.

The Manual says... whosoever means you.

Now What?

If you just put your faith in Jesus, welcome to the family. Really. Here is what comes next:

1. Tell someone. Tell us! We'd love to celebrate with you and encourage you as you begin your walk with Christ.

2. Find a Bible-believing church. God never intended for us to follow Him alone. Find a church that faithfully teaches the Bible where you can grow, worship, and serve alongside other believers. If we can help you find one, we'd be glad to.

3. Start reading God's Word. Begin with the Gospel of John. It was written so that you might know who Jesus is and believe in Him.

4. Keep growing. The Christian life is not just a one-time decision; it's the beginning of a lifelong relationship with God.
